Job Description:

Carroll Engineering is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from inception to construction with a solid understanding of site design principles along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Our team members have a wide range of experience across the commercial, institutional, and public construction industry and are capable of seeing projects through from the beginning of design to the completion of construction. Duties:

  • Provide design and management of projects including oversight and training of Engineers-in-training. 
  • Prepare designs using modern analysis software such as TR 55, HEC, Hydrowflow, HydroCAD, among others.
  • Prepare construction documents using Autodesk and Civil 3D drafting software.
  • Write and edit civil design specifications in Masterspec format
  • Attend meetings with clients, design teams members, and contractors. 
  • Perform construction administration related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized site inspections
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors on design and construction of projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience:
    • Site layout & grading
    • Storm Water Management
    • Erosion & Sediment Control
    • Wet Utility  Design
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced collaborative environment
