Stevenson University Owings Mills Campus

Opened in 2004 as a second location to the original Greenspring Campus, Stevenson University’s Owings Mills Campus is now the main academic and residential hub of the university. It features the flagship Mustang Stadium, the 40,000-SF Rockland Student Center, the 60,000-SF Brown School of Business, the 147,000-SF Manning Academic Center, and 13 residential facilities. As the university continues to expand, our team recently provided full designs for the new Library and Theater Complex, a 63,000-SF building featuring performing arts, academic, and administrative spaces that broke ground in 2020. CEI provided full structural designs for the entire Owings Mills campus, which included new construction and adaptive reuse designs for more than 20 buildings over the past 17 years.

Highlights

  • Our team has provided adaptive reuse designs for multiple buildings on the campus, including the $9 million conversion of a manufacturing plant into the Manning Academic Center and reuse of a former Ravens training facility as the Caves Sports and Wellness Center.
  • The residential buildings feature wood framing, pre-engineered wood floor and roof trusses, panelized wall systems, and classic brick veneer. Plans included apartments, dorms, and suites.
  • Designs for the new Library and Theater Complex feature steel framing, steel beams, and lightweight slab-on-grade flooring. We also provided designs for a unique glass curtainwall veneer system, 2-story atrium, and suspended concourse walkways.
