Carroll Engineering has been completing work at Oriole Park at Camden Yards for more than 20 years. We have provided structural, civil, and landscape architecture services on a number of projects aimed at maintaining the stadium’s infrastructure and enhancing the gameday experience. Major modernization work has included the addition of the outfield Rooftop Bar & Picnic Plaza, dugout and seating upgrades, renovations to the Camden Yards Warehouse, and universal accessibility improvements.
Opened in 2014, the Rooftop Bar & Picnic Plaza included designs for an open-air concessions space, seating area, and the Hall of Famer’s Courtyard, which features six commemorative statues. Our renovations to the historic Camden Yards Warehouse included targeted interior upgrades to increase functionality of the sixth, seventh, and eighth floors. In the lower seating bowl, our team was also part of the team to replace 48,000 seats, mitigate water infiltration, and increase ADA accessibility through ramp repairs. Our additional work at Oriole Park at Camden Yards includes a full civil assessment of the entire complex, escalator replacements, stadium lighting upgrades, designs to upgrade the park’s first aid suites, and assisting MSA in their pursuit of MS4 compliance.
- The Rooftop Bar & Picnic Plaza also included plans for full stormwater management, complete reconfiguration of the existing paved seating area, and a 1,500-SF steel canopy over the bar.
- In 2015, our team completed a site condition assessment of the entire 85-acre Camden Yards Sports Complex to recommend preventative maintenance and repairs for failing stormwater management devices and storm drainage.
- Since 2009, Carroll Engineering has completed nearly 25 projects at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
