Site: Timonium, MD
Client: Merritt Properties
Location: Baltimore County, MDCEI completed structural design services for an 8-story, 200,000 square foot office tower with a 3-level parking structure. Reviewed geotechnical soils report and designed a cost effective building Geopier deep foundation system along with a glass curtain wall and post-tensioned flat slab. CEI completed structural designs for a 3-story parking garage structure over an old quarry. Our staff coordinated with Herbst/Benson and Geostructures to define a method of augering and rammed aggregate piers for the identification of the fill (soft sandy clays) and natural soil interface. The parking structure consisted of reinforced concrete construction with unbonded post-tensioning, spread footing, a Geopier foundation system, and exterior brick. Garage contained 104,000 gross square feet of area and contained 680 spaces.
