Marshy Point Nature Center

CEI prepared plans for a one-story, 6,500 gross square foot addition located on the north side of the existing nature center. CEI worked with the Architect to define site constraints and properly orient the addition footprint to fall completely outside the Chesapeake Bay critical area buffer area. Using a best management practice, our staff maintained the natural swale area, collected storm drainage and piped storm water underneath addition via a three piped system encased in concrete. Site vehicular circulation was analyzed resulting in a proposed 16" wide bituminous roadway that served as a service drive to the concrete loading dock area. For pedestrian circulation, we designed a concrete handicap ramp connecting into the proposed wood decking. We also realigned 40 linear feet of gravel and asphalt trails to properly clear, then connect into additional walkways.
